With immediate-load implants, Dr. Winfield places your implants and attaches a fixed set of teeth to them on the very same day. The implants placed on day one are permanent. The teeth attached to them are high-quality fixed temporaries, engineered to look natural and function comfortably during the three-to-six-month healing phase while your implants fuse with the bone. Once that fusion — called osseointegration — is complete, your temporaries are exchanged for premium zirconia restorations built to last.

Immediate-load treatment is most often used as part of All-on-X full-arch restoration, where a small number of implants support a complete bridge of teeth. Many providers place the four- implant minimum per arch; Dr. Winfield’s Winplants® standard is six wherever anatomy allows — spreading bite forces across more points of support for greater stability, at no additional cost.
Full-arch cases aren’t the only ones that qualify, though. The same immediate-load principles can apply to single implants and multi-tooth bridges when conditions allow — so even one failing front tooth can often be removed, replaced with an implant, and fitted with a fixed temporary crown in a single appointment.

Before surgery: digital planning. A CBCT scan, digital impressions, and a smile design session let Dr. Winfield map your implant positions and design your new teeth before your surgical visit.
Day one: surgery and same- day teeth. Failing teeth are removed, your implants areplaced with sedation options for comfort, photogrammetry captures their exact positions, and your fixed temporary teeth are attached before you go home.
Months 1–6: healing. Your implants fuse with the bone while you enjoy fixed teeth. You’ll follow a soft-food diet at first and come in for brief check-ins.
The finish line: your zirconia smile. Once healing is confirmed, your premium zirconia restoration is placed — the final step in your transformation.
Same-day loading requires enough bone quality and implant stability to support teeth immediately — exactly what Dr. Winfield’s CBCT imaging and digital planning are designed to confirm in advance. Health factors such as smoking or uncontrolled diabetes can affect healing, so your consultation includes a full review of your medical history. In the rare case immediate loading isn’t advisable, Dr. Winfield will tell you honestly and design the safest path to your new smile.
